Associate Veterinarian, Part-Time

Escaya Veterinarians is a brand new, privately-owned, small animal clinic servicing a diverse, professional, family-oriented community 15 miles south of downtown San Diego. The area is great for raising a family with highly-rated schools. More affordable than San Diego proper, but within driving distance to all San Diego has to offer- beach, trails, mountains, museums, theme parks, gardens, microbreweries, food, events. There’s something for every interest!

We have all the usual brand-new clinic stuff including: digital x-rays, dental x-rays, in-house CBC/CHEM machines, ultrasound, & electrocautery. Aim is to achieve AAHA accreditation. Dedicated vet asst/tech for monitoring anesthetic procedures. Dedicated time blocked off for anesthetic procedures. 30-minute office visits. Dedicated time blocked off for lunch. Assignment of patients to doctors for continuity of care.

Expand your clinical knowledge from direct consults with traveling board-certified specialists for: Radiology, abdominal ultrasound, cardiology, internal medicine, & surgery.

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced P/T Associate Veterinarian with the potential to convert to F/T in the future. Great way to get to know each other! We service mainly cats and dogs but can welcome other pets based on doctor’s interest.

Qualifications

  • Must be comfortable working single-doctor days seeing appointments for Wellness exams, ill pets, urgent care cases, and select emergencies typical of a general small animal practice.
  • Must be comfortable with general practice surgical procedures (e.g. spays, neuters, cystotomies, enterotomies, mass removals, etc.)
  • Interest in a particular field is highly desirable & encouraged (e.g. soft tissue surgery, orthopedic surgery, acupuncture, physical therapy/rehab, exotics, etc.)
  • Interest in ownership is a plus.
  • Licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the state of California.
  • Ideally USDA-accredited.
